Match the literacy level of your audience with your writing.

People with various levels of literacy participated in a series of user tests conducted by Electronic Ink's Angela Colter. According to the findings of her study, people with poor literacy levels struggle to

perform simple activities on websites with [content](https://styleyourname.com) written for readers with a high level of literacy.

Users of websites with low literacy requirements finished their jobs more quickly and without as much aggravation. That sounds rather clear-cut, no?

However, an unintended finding of this research was that users with high literacy levels also performed significantly better when the website's language was at a lower level.
